"Giddyup" by Giddyup (Country artist from Louisiana (LA))

The self-titled CD from the band Giddyup has all the makings of the perfect Western Swing CD. One swinging tune right after another, sure to please the dancehall crowds. Brothers Michael and Tim, from a family with 13 children, sure know how the West was won! Extremely fantastic instrumentally, plus a whole lot of story-telling songs to inspire and touch your hearts. Wow, hard to pick a favorite, as they all are really good. "No Horse Town" and the title cut 'Giddyup" are two that harken listeners back to simpler times, and thus are deemed as favorite cuts. Again, this entire CD is a winner!

"Stories from Cactus Motel" by The Men They Couldn't Shave (Acoustic/Country artist from Norway)

"Stories from Cactus Motel" by the humorously named The Men They Couldn't Shave is a pleasant collection of well-crafted acoustic/country tunes. Majestic acoustic guitars serve as this CD's strongest captivator and draw listeners in with a tight grasp. "Up North" stands out for just this reason; its graceful acoustic intro quickly becomes etched into one's memory. Moreover, the vocals on this album are refreshingly unique, adequately raw, and compellingly emotional. Lyrically, The Men They Couldn't Shave brings a nice mix to the table – a little bit of wit, a lot of relevance, and a nice dose of introspection. Other standout tracks include "The Ballad of Old Henri P.," "Ghost Dance Shirt," and the hilarious "A Tough Man Left Town." All in all, "Stories from Cactus Motel" is fun, highly relatable, and musically outstanding.

"It's All About You, Lord" by Dewayne Holt (Spiritual/Country Gospel artist from Georgia (GA))

"It's All About You, Lord" by the hearty Dewayne Holt is an inspirational collection of original country gospel tunes. Dewayne's deeply-toned yet heavily emotional voice is the perfect fit for these uplifting country tunes. "What A Hallelujah Morning" demonstrates the professional musicianship exhibited on this CD, as well as some beautiful harmonies. Lyrically, these songs are very personal, straight-forward, and poetic. Moreover, the very passionate "Tomorrow" radiates a very intimate vibe, enlisting the aid of the elegant acoustic guitar. This album offers its listeners more than great tunes: Listeners will certainly be encouraged and inspired by these very meditative tales.

"Nothing to Lose" by Billy Winn (Country Rock artist from Maine (ME))

"Nothing to Lose" by Billy Winn is a highly professional and enjoyable modern country album. Billy's heavy, near-baritone timbre radiates tons of emotion and pierces through the instrumentation. Honest and pure lyrics characterize the poetic makeup of these songs of love and loss. The mid-tempo, emotional ballad "That's For Sure" delivers some very expressive musicianship and vocals. Other standout tracks include the heavy-with-rock-edge "Waiting On Someone" and the Phil Collins-esque "Honey Brown." From start to finish, this CD delivers the entire package – beautiful lyrics, great song structure, and sincere vocal performances.
