"On My Own" by Sid Melancon (Country Artist from Louisiana(LA))

"On My Own" by Sid Melancon is a collection of impressive country songs brought to you with a modern sound and a bit of tradition. The album is strong in many ways. The lyrics are clever and tell a story. Sid's vocals are certainly memorable, both in terms of excellent pitch as well as his well-suited country voice. The excellent harmonies in the choruses of many of these tracks are also noteworthy. The arrangements and musicianship behind Sid's vocals are professional, lively, and well layered. Overall the CD has a commercial radio-ready professional quality. Highlights include "Stronger in Love," a tale of love lost that is a definite sing-along. "Done Her Wrong" is a high energy upbeat tune, with a nice walking bass line and fun solos. "Just What to do" is another "barn-burner" with nothing but a good time in mind. If you enjoy country music, especially male country vocalists, you'll like this one.

"Northern Drive" by Clare Cooper (Country Artist from New York City, New York(NY))

"Northern Drive" by Clare Cooper is driving Country Rock that features a Pop element. The songs are complete and well arranged with lots of layers. Clare has an impressive classic country voice and the album features some great harmonies. Overall, the musicianship and production on the CD are very professional. The concept is fun and happy. You'll also hear some great changes and an overall uniqueness. The album opens with "Colorado" and features fun lyrics and a big sound with some beautiful harmonies. "Cosmo and Manhattan" tells a story and throws a bit of an Adult Contemporary vibe at you. "Hole in the Wall" has a sinister vibe to it, cool horns and another fun story. If you want to check out a fun, cross-genre CD, with elements of country, adult contemporary, and rock give this CD a listen.

“Life Song Revelations” by Billy Chernoff (Country artist from Washington (WA))

"Life Song Revelations" by Billy Chernoff is an enjoyable expression of country gospel tunes. Full of faith and fervor, Billy delivers some powerful and straightforward lyrics of hope and love. Vocally, Billy shines as his soothing tone is perfect for this genre. The musicianship and the songwriting on the CD is very impressive. The simple yet powerful ballad "Lay Your Burdens Down" flaunts superb instrumentation, namely its stunning fiddle arrangement. Moreover, "Nothing Became Bread" is equally as emotional, delivering a heavenly saxophone melody, and stand-out lyrics. With production that is clearly professional, "Live Song Revelation" is worthy of your attention if you are a fan of country gospel music.
